In your sketchbook glue in 10 examples of portraits without a face. Cut out the entire image and no text! Consider how a portrait can have the face hidden, covered, cropped out, not lit, etc. Consider also what could be considered a portrait, does it need to have a person at all?
Next, find a photo you have taken that is a portrait and crop it in a way to make an interesting composition, keeping it a rectangle, but now it is a portrait without a face.
