You will choose 3 from each roll to print and scan in to Flickr (Make a set for each, indicate what size you printed it at). You will print one at 2" X 3", one at 6.5" X 9.5", and one at 9" X 13". Consider what photo reads well small and which you would like to see large.

3200 speed film is much more sensitive to light than what you have used, as a result your images will be grainier. The lower the light the more noticeable the grain will be. Consider photographing subjects that will take advantage of the texture of the film and its lowlight properties (You still need contrast though). You can download the assignment sheet HERE. Remember to check that your camera can take 3200 film and then change the ISO!
Look at some examples from last year of 3200 iso photos on Flickr Download the DIGIFICATION pages HERE if needed. If you are AP let this digital roll (part 3 below) be your 2nd AP assignment. The Digital Exploration set on Flickr is due 10/24 (If AP it is due 10/20 (10/19 for 4B)). Make sure to efficiently use your time if you need to check out a digital camera, as there are only 5.
Your first official Photo 2 assignment will utilize 50 ISO film. This is known as slow film because of its low ISO number and because it reacts more slowly to light. As a result of smaller silver particles on the film you will need more light than you usually do in order to get a proper exposure. The advantage of this film is a wide range of values and super crisp details. This is a perfect film for portraits as skin tones look great. When shooting you will have to plan for a specific time of the day and weather where there is plenty of light, fall is a great time of year as the late afternoon offers beautiful light. Check out some examples of 50 ISO photographs HERE from last year.
Read the directions carefully before shooting and remember to change your camera's ISO to 50, if your camera automatically sets the ISO find the manual to make sure it can go to 50 (not all cameras do). Below are a few examples of what the Film Speed Dial or adjustment looks like on your camera. |
